FAQ

  • Email inquiries to we@newyorkheartwoods.com and we will send you pricing and material information. Please include a preferred budget if applicable. Quotes are valid for 30 days. Terms are 50% non-refundable deposit to start, balance upon completion.

  • Our standard finish is no-VOC hard oil and wax, unless otherwise specified. These hand rubbed finishes benefit from yearly touch ups with a maintenance oil. Though less sustainable, we offer catalyzed lacquer for commercial applications and for those desiring less maintenance.

Live-edge slabs and wood from local mills often have knots and cracks. To stabilize the surfaces, please inform us if you would prefer patches, butterflies, and/or epoxy fills. Depending on the amount of patches and butterflies required to stabilize a surface, we reserve the right to adjust costs to reflect labor involved.

  • We accept checks, cash and bank transfers. Credit cards are also welcome and incur a 3% fee.

  • After we receive the deposit and a signed copy of our Terms & conditions form, lead times are approximately 10-12 weeks for furniture, 16-24 weeks for Full Circle whole tree projects.

  • Interior designers and architects can receive a trade discount by emailing their requests and resale certificates to we@newyorkheartwoods.com.

  • All our pieces are made to order and are unreturnable.

  • For one-year from the delivery date, NYH warranties all pieces against material and fabrication defects. This warranty applies solely to the original buyer and is non-transferable, and excludes damage caused by shipping, accident, normal wear and tear (scratches, dents, stains, etc.), misuse, cleaning, and improper assembly or installation. Damages caused by anything outside these factors can be sent in to be repaired for a fee. Please contact us to estimate costs and schedule work.

  • Clean surfaces with a soft damp cloth, and wipe dry. A mild cleanser may also be used. Wipe up spills immediately in order to avoid staining. The use of coasters or trivets will protect surfaces from heat marks and water stains.

To remove marks and light surface scratches for our natural oil finishes (*does not apply to lacquer), apply a maintenance oil with a gray Scotchbrite pad or 0000 steel wool, going with the grain using equal pressure across the entire surface of the table. Leave on for a few minutes and buff off with clean rags. Apply maintenance oil with a clean rag once a year, or whenever the surface can use a boost, to refresh the original finish.
